Nestled on the southeastern coast of Karpathos, Irini Hotel is conceived as a contemporary interpretation of the traditional island village. The composition of low-rise volumes, curved colonnades, and palm-lined walkways creates a serene microcosm that blends harmoniously with the coastal landscape.
Designed to evoke familiarity and comfort, the hotel complex is organized around gardens and communal spaces, encouraging a sense of community and tranquility. Architectural forms follow the gentle slope of the terrain, enhancing the visual and physical connection to the sea.
Each unit opens to private patios or balconies, offering views toward the Aegean horizon or the lush landscaped courtyards. Natural materials, soft curves, and whitewashed surfaces reflect the Cycladic typology while responding to the local climate.
The central pool area, framed by palm trees and stone-paved paths, serves as the heart of the complex—an oasis of relaxation and social interaction. The design aims to offer guests an immersive experience of island life, combining simplicity, elegance, and a deep respect for place.
