Kallisti Villa

"Designed not to be seen, but to be felt, a dwelling that breathes with the land, rather than interrupting it"

Kallisti Villa - Serifos island, Greece

Kallisti Villa is an architectural proposal for a 280 sq.m. private residence located on the island of Serifos, Greece. Designed by EFTEKTON Architects, the project embraces the natural topography, allowing the residence to emerge as a seamless extension of the landscape rather than an object imposed upon it.

Inspired by the ancient Greek word Kallisti, meaning "the most beautiful," the villa celebrates beauty through simplicity, proportion, and harmony with nature. The design follows the site's contour lines, minimizing excavation while integrating local stone retaining walls, green roofs, and native Mediterranean planting into a holistic bioclimatic strategy.

The architectural composition combines clean geometric volumes with soft curved elements, creating a balanced dialogue between architecture and landscape. At its heart, a circular swimming pool and central courtyard organize the spatial experience, bringing natural light, ventilation, and uninterrupted visual connections throughout the residence.

Large openings frame panoramic views while promoting natural daylight, cross ventilation, and passive climate control. Local stone, exposed concrete, natural wood, and handcrafted materials establish a timeless Mediterranean character that feels deeply rooted in the island's identity.

Kallisti Villa reflects EFTEKTON Architects' philosophy of creating contemporary residential architecture that combines sustainability, refined simplicity, and a profound respect for the landscape, offering a living experience shaped by light, nature, and place.
